Torque Limiters & Overload Safety Clutches
Protect drives and tooling from overload
Torque limiters and overload safety clutches protect machinery by slipping or disengaging when torque exceeds a preset limit — preventing damage to motors, gearboxes and tooling during a jam or overload. We supply ball-detent and multi-disc friction types with adjustable slip torque and automatic or manual re-engagement.
- Adjustable slip torque, set to your machine
- Ball-detent and multi-disc friction designs
- Automatic or manual re-engagement
- Protects motors, gearboxes and tooling
- Shaft or flange mounting

Frequently asked questions
How does a torque limiter protect my machine?
A torque limiter is set to a maximum safe torque. If the load exceeds that limit — for example during a jam — the limiter slips or disengages, breaking the drive path so the motor, gearbox and tooling are not damaged.
Does it reset automatically?
Depending on the type, re-engagement can be automatic once the overload clears, or manual where a deliberate reset is preferred. We set the slip torque and reset behaviour to your application.
